Ooh, trendy
I guess these fashionable wipes holders are becoming more popular. This was made specifically for me (I picked the fabric) as a baby gift. How stylin' am I? If you go on over to Olive Oily she showcases one she made that also has a pocket for diapers. Don't you want one now too?

And the Oscar goes to........
BIG G!!!!!!!!!!! Only a select few will find this as cool as it is but for the very FIRST time EVER, my family all sat down to the EXACT same meal, and EVERYONE ate it!!!! To most who are reading this, it is probably very confusing but believe me, this is HUGE!! So big, I had to blog (okay, brag) about it. Our G has struggled with eating for so long and we took a leap of faith in putting him on a gf/cf diet not knowing if he'd even thrive on it. We have been diligent about making sure no food goes into his mouth that could be proven toxic to his entire body. I made a typical pot roast/carrots/potato medley and baked it in the oven. I cut up all of his meal into bite size pieces and crossed my fingers when we all sat down to the exact same meal as a family. With NO screaming or crying (which is not unusual at mealtime in my house, you'd think we were beating him the way he is so fearful of food) he ate his ENTIRE plate! He is officially for the first time, a member of the clean plate club!! Way to go buddy, we are so ecstatic and proud of you after last nights performance! Keep it up G!!!!

**mommy is extra happy though because I didn't have to make multiple meals for once!!!!
More than half way cleared!! Keep going!!

Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow!
Seriously, I'd really like it to. I love reading comments friends make on blogs or Facebook about the snow and how much it's dragging them down and they are ready to be done with it already. I lived in MN, I SO KNOW that feeling but now that I am removed, it got me thinking about new plans for my "wherever you want to go" vacation my hubby said he'll take me on for our 10 year anniversary. Before, I pictured us going somewhere tropical with steel drums and palm trees but now, I never get away from the sun(I feel like it's groundhog day!) so I'm thinking we'll go somewhere like this...
A nice cozy mountain retreat where I'm forced to stay inside and curl up by a fire with a white hot chocolate. Heck, maybe I'll learn to ski but definitely we'll rent snowmobiles and go for horse drawn sled rides. I think it's what the doctor ordered! Weird that I actually miss those humorous frigid MN days, never thought I'd ever say those words! I think of all you MN'tans frequently, hang in there!!

"think, think, think...."-Winnie the Pooh
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to.......
1: ...sit in on a planning session for maxi pads? Seriously, don't you wonder what and how they talk about those things in conjunction with female anatomy and what comes out of it?? Do you think they use nicknames like vajay-jay, cooter, aunt flo etc...? And how many men work there?
2: ...slam your bosses head against the table in a meeting and say, "how ya' like me now?!?!?"
3: ...wear an entire wedding ensemble, dress, vail, shoes, pantyhose (I love that word!) etc.. out of TP (that's toilet paper for you slower folks) and get married by FAT Elvis?
4: ...jazzercise? In a Jane Fonda leotard and shiny leggings with a smokin' hot headband-oh, don't forget the sweet Reeboks that velcro!!
5: ...give your conservative friends wedgies then a swirly and yell, "how ya' like me now!?!?" (j/k...not really, lighten up!!!-I still love you all though, you keep me balanced)
6: ...instead of walking across the crosswalk, do the worm with an intermission of the running man just to piss the drivers off?
7: ...sing along at the opera...out loud, in the aisle, with viking horns and a beard (maybe put braids in it and paint your face crazy yellow and purple because if you're a MN'tan after all, you need to represent!!)
8: ...change a light bulb with a pollack and a Jewish guy? (I'm not racist, I married a Mexican and I have a Jewish sister and I'm pretty sure I'd find someone polish in my stew of a family.)
9: ...wonder if you can teach your bird to read it's carpet for entertainment? Do you think birds know that their carpet is actually newspaper??
What do you wonder?? Please share on your own blog and leave your blogger address so I can come read too cause I love inspiration!!
**With kids, I obviously have to sometimes entertain myself to keep the sanity in me alive and alert.

In case you were wondering...
This is baby R in her harness. Well, it's funny, the pediatrician calls it a "sling", the orthopedist calls it a "harness" and the company that makes these contraptions calls it a "kicker". I find the last one a bit ironic seeing as she can't KICK anything.

To Lock or Not to Lock?
I've been wondering for awhile now whether or not to quit Facebook for many reasons and I read an article today that summed up EVERYTHING I had been thinking (http://www.newsweek.com/id/183180?GT1=43002) about the Facebook phenomena. I think I may start focusing on more of who my real friends are vs. the acquaintances who find me at random just so they can watch their "friend" number go up. It got me thinking on my life and who I feel should be a part of it and and who should not so I'm THINKING about locking my blog. I want those of you who really, truly are my friends and those that would like to get better acquainted to weigh in on my decision. If you have thoughts on this yourself or opinions on locking blogs, please share. I don't want to block people out of my life who think they are an acquaintance that are hoping to become better friends so please share your thoughts on what you think. Gosh, could I have used the word, "think" anymore in this posting?Monday, February 2, 2009
Day with the fam...
Yesterday we blessed baby R and were lucky to ACTUALLY have relatives come! We've lived so far from anyone in our family for so long and now we live in a state with one of my sisters. She lives 3 1/2 hours from us but she packed her family up in the modern day polyg rig and drove north just for us! G had the time of his life playing football w/his cousins. He wanted them all to come back the next day but sadly, they did have to go home (after the first quarter of the Superbowl of course:)).
G's cousins were awesome at being patient and helping G learn the sport of football. G loved running and falling down well before the goal line and falling at random times because he assumed since his cousins would fall after they caught the ball, that is just what you do. His cousins also did an awesome job of getting my boy the dirtiest I think he's ever been after playing outside! Thanks cousins for a great day!!!!
Ok, so not the best pic of me, but I somehow didn't get many pics of baby R so you'll have to forgive my ugly mug and the drunk look of baby R (I figured this post is mainly about her so I couldn't NOT post something).
Big sis R ALWAYS wearing her princess helmet. She got it for Christmas and now for some reason believes if she is outside playing she has to sport it. She was also super stoked to have another girl to play with her. However, such a big full day yesterday did unleash her demons and I had to send dad in to perform an exorcism. She's much better today!
