Easter at My House!

This year was Baby R's first year coloring Easter eggs.  I picked up those PAAS colored swabs thinking it would be easier for her than waiting for eggs to get darker in the traditional "wait" sense.  However, if your kids are like mine, they dunk an egg in the cup and want it right back out, no waiting really.  We had some fabulous pastel colored eggs this year, ok, every year:)  BUT, for kicks, since we usually buy brown eggs, we tried those out to see how they'd color and you know what, we got AWESOME colored eggs!  The pink dye colored the brown eggs a gorgeous red, the blue dye colored the brown eggs a wonderful deep hunter green and the yellow dye made the brown eggs look like a bright orange.  So in case you didn't think brown eggs work, they do!

G got his first suit.  He was having a hissy fit Easter morning so unfortunately I didn't get a pic w/him in his jacket (hmmphh!).  I tried and tried to get all 3 kids to take a good pic together, I finally gave up so this is what you get.

After Baby R woke up from her nap the kids did a traditional egg hunt, of course they loved it, what kid doesn't?

Oh Me, Oh My! Look Who's 5!!

It's official, Little R is 5!

At her school she was the class leader for her birthday and got to decorate herself a crown.  If you are wondering about her crazy look, she was so hopped up on sugar seeing as they celebrated her birthday and Easter the same day!  After they hunted for Easter Eggs, I brought in treats so snack time was a WHOLE LOTTA SUGAR!  This pic was the best of the bunch since I couldn't get her to sit still.

Since they celebrated Easter too, all the kids in her class got to make bunny masks to go hunt for eggs on the playground.  When I picked her up from school she had the mask on with the crown and insisted on hopping all the way to the car.  Did I mention snack time was all sugar? 

For Little R's birthday, she chose none other than Chuck-E-Cheese (darn commercials).  We got there right after they opened at 9am and we were the only ones in there.  Apparently, they test all the games before opening and at every game that gave tickets, there was at least 10 tickets already hanging out of the machines as "freebies".    

Everyone got in on the action.  I was in charge of getting a lot of tickets w/Baby R.  Mr. D stuck w/G and Little R.  I think between me earning about 75% of all the tickets we had just over 500 tickets to go exchange for prizes.  I think we spent about $20 in tokens and walked out with about $1.80 in prizes.  How's that for a markup?  80 tickets for a sheet of stickers?  Really?  Unbelievable.

Baby R loved all the machines w/buttons.  She ran around the joint in heaven pushing every button she saw.  It was especially cool in her eyes since all the buttons lit up all fancy like. 

We then finished up the day w/presents (and coloring Easter eggs but I'll post all that later).  She is hugging her new LaLaLoopsy doll.

Happy 5th Birthday Little R!!

Inspired!!

I've been cleaning my awful, messy office the last couple of days and I realized, I have WAY too much ribbon.  However, my head is in "create" mode ever since my hubby has been paying my way to decorate certain aspects of our home this month. 

Well, Little R's room has been at the forefront of my head FOREVER!  I've known exactly what I've wanted to do in her room but the extra money keeps going to Mr. D's projects instead.  Well, I guess the money gods have rained down on me cause I FINALLY get to do Little R's room!!

Now, back to my too much ribbon issue....I've decided I'm going to make her a ribbon wreath as shown above but in several damask prints that will match her soon to be gorgeous bedroom.  This wreath uses 24 yards of ribbon to complete and with my stash, I'm well beyond good for that much yardage.

If it turns out awesome, I'll have to do a giveaway of one of these wreaths, who wants one??

I don't know about you, but I sure did have fun designing a mock wedding this week!

As far as decorations were concerned, it was again, a tie: Flowers and Bling took the cake!

Tis the season!

It's becoming wedding season and if you follow me on FB I recently asked, "If there was anything you could change about your wedding, what would it be?"  I got answers from venue to dresses and everything in between.  It was fun hearing that so many of us have something that looking back on, they would have done differently.  So, for this week, I'm going to run some polls and by the end, I will reveal what seems to be most popular if you were to be getting married today vs. "x" amount of years ago! Polls will be quick to close (about 48 hours only), so don't forget to come back often to cast your vote for each topic (one will be posted every 24-48 hours)!!  So look to the right and get voting!

We called out, "Pool is now open!!" and guess who showed.....

These two hang out all over in our neighborhood, they've come close to our pool but I've never actually seen them get in it! 

These two love birds were quite happy and relaxed in our pool, they swam all over for a good hour!  They are now gone, but I'm worried that if we take the kids out there, the water will be contaminated with bird pee and poop.  Nasty.
