Still my {baby}.

(pic courtesy of Baby R's Sunbeam teacher)

I'm supposed to be filling out time sensitive paperwork but my head is spinning and I'm tired of making phone calls all around the US gathering past information so I decided to take a break.

Yesterday Baby R had a most enjoyable day at church.  Her darling Sunbeam teacher took them on a nature walk and gave each of them their very own bug catcher and bug keeper.  Baby R found 4 ladybugs to put in her bug keeper and was so proud of them:)

Enter the car ride home.....Little R from the back seat "one got out!".  I turn my head to her practically throwing Baby R's bug keeper at me.  Sure enough, a ladybug got out and was crawling on the outside of the bug keeper so I opened the window and let the wind take him away.

By dinner time, only one ladybug remained in the bug keeper.  So, somewhere in my home I have 2 ladybugs living it up:)

Doesn't Baby R look so big??  Mr. D commented last night that she's a kid now, no longer a baby:(  She's still my baby though:)

{Easter}.

We had a great Easter weekend filled with all the traditional Easter fun!
On Saturday we colored our eggs:)
Baby R really got into it this year:)
G making a red "Angry Bird" and a green "Angry Bird".
Some of our eggs.  We color brown eggs instead of the traditional white eggs, I think the colors come out looking really good:)
Early the next morning, the Easter Bunny came!!
Baby R went straight for her chocolate Easter chick sucker, she could care less about anything else in her basket:)
G got a new Angry Bird doodle book.  Last I looked, he was already half way through it:)
Little R with her new pink sparkle sunglasses:)
Baby R had to run and get her new sunglasses too after she saw Little R got some as well:)
Wouldn't be a traditional Easter for Mr. D if egg fights didn't happen:)
All my kiddos dressed up in their new Easter outfits for Church.  They all look so springy:)
After Church we had cousins come over for dinner and an Easter egg hunt.  You can't see all of them but we had quite the line waiting to go outside and start hunting:)
It was a great weekend!  I hope you all had wonderful Easter's as well:)

Open for {business}.

Looks like the weather is definitely past any potential threat of frost here in TX.  We warmed the pool up a few more degrees and declared it officially swimming season two weekends ago.
G and Baby R having fun in the kiddie pool with a handful of pool toys.
Baby R going out in the bigger pool with her daddy.  She was waving "hi" to me:)
Little R getting more brave in the big pool.  Mr. D was helping her learn how to use the Dolphin:)
And the Grand Finale was when G impressed us all with how brave he is becoming when it comes to swimming.....
And we have LIFT OFF!!
If you want to know if he did again?  The answer is a big fat YES!

Spring is in {Bloom}.

Just over a week ago we had the opportunity to go to the 2nd grade performance at our school.  It was seriously one of the most adorable school programs I think I've ever seen, and I'm not just saying that because my child was in it either, it really was a fantastic production they put on!
The program was all about planting seeds to help the earth and to see how farmers work each day.
I admit, I actually teared up at one point because for the first time G was doing ALL THE ACTIONS!!  I even watched his mouth move for most the songs!!  In Kinder, he was the kid who just sat and stared all around, sort of clueless.  In First grade, he was the kid still standing around but this time, he was also the one who was holding himself throughout the program cause he needed to pee.  He has come such a HUGE long way and I was beaming for him this night. (He's a plant on the back row, 3rd in from the left)
He's now 4th in from the left but look at him with his arm up with everyone else!  Man, I'm tearing up all over again just writing this.  I'm so stinking proud of this kid!
Taking a bow after the plants did their part (3rd in from the left).  See all the actions he's doing with all the other kids!?!?!?
At the end of the program they invited all us parents out to see some of the kids artwork they've been working on.  G is getting better and better at his art.  I can't wait for this one to come home, I have a feeling I may be framing this:)

Run, Run, {Run}.

So I picked up running while living in MN.  I have continued to run since moving here to TX but only during the cooler months as summer here is way too hot for me.  Mr. D came home from work one day and told me about a run a coworker of his was doing and I should sign up.  So I did.  I also put out many shameless plugs for others to join me and in the end, there were 9 other people I suckered into running with me:)  The race proceeds benefited a children's hospital here and the turn out was almost 6000 runners!  It's called the Firefly Run.  It's a nighttime run and you are to make yourselves glow in the dark.  It was hilarious:)
I had never seen so many port-a-potties in my life!  Thankfully, we stopped at Potbelly's who graciously allowed us to empty our bladders w/o purchasing pre-race:)
This pic didn't turn out too well, but this is me w/an old friend from MN who lives about 20 minutes from me now here in TX.  It was awesome to hook up and do this run together.
Standing around waiting for the race to begin.  This is my niece Hailey and my older sis Jules.
Another sis of mine, Amy.
Playing with our glowing flare before the race countdown began.
My nephew on the left.
WE DID IT!!!!  I had some personal goals that I definitely met and exceeded, I was so proud of myself:)
And the best part of the evening was when my nephew took home a 3rd place medal (he clearly has a proud mama) for his age division!  We had several other runners but once the race began, we all lost each other but it was an absolute blast and I can't wait to do this same run again next year!!  Who else wants to do it too?  Come on, you know you want to!!
