Speleeng klas

G just got home from school and I always go through his backpack right out of the gate to help him re-live his day in a speech therapy sense. Well, I pulled this worksheet out today and had a good chuckle....

I asked G to read these words to me because supposedly he can according to the statement at the top of the worksheet and here is what he sounded out to me:

1: VLEN = Violin

2: PACPAC = Backpack

3: GREN= Green

4: BUN= Button

5: FRE= Free

Bless the kids heart, he's trying so hard. Last week his teacher sent a note home stating that she was working on getting G to draw other things he sees besides Transformers, he's obsessed. He brings his Jesus coloring pages home from church too and he will somehow turn Jesus into an Autobot or Decepticon, which ever fits his mood at the time. Autism certainly can make for a good laugh sometimes.

too cute!

My brother learned how to read drawing pictures of remotes and VCR's. It took awhile to explain what an abbreviation was and that FFWD really Didn't spell fast forward.
We also had a very long period of video game ratings, transformer stations (the electricity kind) sprinkler heads and legos. Oh the stories we could ALL tell!

I think that's excellent phonetic spelling for his age, autism or no.
