Not in my house!

Aww, the easiest chicken nuggets on the market to nuke in the microwave, every moms dream right?  Well, I'm going to tell you a little story about these nuggets, let me know what you think of it....because it's 100% all true (unlike their claim on the front of their bag)...

The state of Kentucky has the highest percentage of "said brand" chicken farmers (any farmer can become one just so you know).  Because the demand is so high for these "100% all natural" nuggets, (isn't advertising so grand?  It's already misleading you with their claim to sell a healthy product, notice the ginormous "100%", it's deceiving, keep reading) the practice of how the chickens are being bred is astonishing.  Science has discovered a way to breed the birds so that their breast meat grows a lot faster and bigger (think steroids) that the bird is top heavy and either can't stand at all, or falls as soon as it stands.  "Said brand", has now allowed their farmers to go a step further in this practice and contain the birds in plexi-glass incubators where the birds are born and bred in such a way that they are featherless and a small tube feeds the bird concoctions that only develop the breast of the bird and nothing else and in record time.

I don't know about you, but this is animal cruelty at a scientific level and it's disgusting.  There is nothing "100% all natural" about "said brand" nuggets if you ask me.  These stories are one more reason I choose to take my family in the opposite direction of processed foods.  A friend of mine and I had a brief discussion about the cost of organic, all natural foods (the real kind!) and are both baffled that families would rather choose a larger TV or more vacations etc.. over feeding their families what their bodies need.  Yes, it is more expensive, but I find we waste less (no more rotten zucchini in my fridge!), we eat proper portions (no childhood obesity/diabetes found here!) and I have a little boy who is living proof on why all the "yuck" needs to be removed from our diets.

Take care of your bodies everyone, you only get one so don't waste it by consuming cancer causing ingredients!  Do what I do and make your own chicken nuggets, G loves how I make his so if you want the recipe let me know.
