This is lengthy, just letting you know cause I'm one proud mama!
Little R had her very first dance recital this past weekend and it was so much fun!
Friday night started us off with a full dress rehearsal. She couldn't wait to get to the Performing Arts Center:)
Needless to say, rehearsal and all it's waiting around while lights and sound were tweaked got her a little bored. I think she tried out every seat in the auditorium, lol!
First dance was their tap number done to "Ragtime Cowboy Joe".
Onto ballet which they danced to an old Elvis song, "Stuck on You".
The studio requested that no flash photography or videos be done on Saturday but we could come right up to the stage on rehearsal night and get all the pics we wanted. It worked out fine, I had no complaints other than the red and white draping fabric they had as a backdrop on Saturday I wish had been up at rehearsal:/
After rehearsal on Friday night I was able to get Little R and a couple of her buddies to stand still for at least one pic:) They were all so giggly and the little girl screams filling the centers lobby area was definitely a sign that a bunch of 5 and 6yo's were in the house:)
Little R wanted me to get a pic of her skirt, "doing this":)
If you are friends with me on FB you know I was soliciting for tips on hair/makeup to make sure my daughter didn't end up looking like a prosti-tot. This was her hair Friday night, and this....
was her hair for the big Saturday performance. When I got her home Friday night, I threw her in the shower to wash out all the hairspray and get the makeup off but children's shampoo isn't as harsh so all the hairspray didn't come out, but enough I could send her to bed:) However, it worked out because her curls were rocking due to the leftover hairspray the next day!
It's Saturday! She is stoked as we walked down to the dressing room area cause she knew her dad, brother and lil' sis were all here to cheer her on (which we did, we were LOUD!):)
Thankfully they had put all the performers names on their chairs backstage so after a quick makeup touch up and a little hairspray, I felt confident leaving her to wow us all in the audience (which she did!):)
BRAVO!! BRAVO!!! Her daddy was waiting with roses at the end of her show, she was beaming (and so was I):)
You nailed it gorgeous!
Little R with her dance teacher Miss Jessica:)
Now onto her chosen summer activity, soccer!
