What I did on my summer vacation! (part 1)

Get ready to relive my families summer vaca, here we go...

We took an awesome break to see the sites of Southern Cali for a week and a half. The fun started at the Enterprise car rental lot when G asks me, "where's California?" I replied, "this is California, we are standing in California." He looked confused and a little distraught by his surroundings. Apparently he didn't understand the fun started when we drive away with our rental car.

First stop was the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana. The kids had a blast learning how clouds are made, the giant pin board, the earthquake simulator etc... I love taking my kids to museums, nothing beats hands on learning.

Next stop was Newport Beach to sit on the sands and kick in the awesome (but cold) pacific ocean!! It's strange how at home I feel when I drive around California and especially sitting on the warm sand, I didn't want to come back to Texas...ever.

If you ask G what the best part of Cali was, he'd definitely say it was the beach! Since doing biomedical treatments with him, his sensory issues have died down tremendously! This kid was burring himself in the sand and had no issue that his sandals were covered with wet sand. It was so cool to watch him have no reservations.
Little R REFUSED to leave the comforts of the beach towels (and aunt Annie). She absolutely HATED the sand on her feet! (See my infant carrier in the background? It broke the night before we left to come home. Nothing like forking out a $100 for a product that your infant is almost outgrown of and won't need for too much longer! I also was at the mercy of the only Target I knew how to get to by our hotel and they sold only one style of Graco carseats, so I had no choice but to buy it. It doesn't match my stroller at all but what were we to do?)

Baby girl, so tired but wouldn't sleep, I think she loved the sound of the waves and all the birds squawking over head. She was such a trooper! She is finally 6 months now and her personality is coming out more and more everyday!
