Christmas {Vacation} -part 3.

Now to the fun part, CHRISTMAS!!!!  Something I haven't mentioned, was that this trip was a surprise to pretty much everyone we saw (aside from my parents and Mr. D's sister).  On Christmas Eve, Mr. D's parents have their annual open house get together.  We literally just walked in, we thought we would get away with mingling till people noticed us, but as soon we walked in we were caught.  It was a great evening, we saw cousins we've never met, aunts and uncles and of course g'ma and g'pa D.
Baby R LOVES babies.  She was aching to hold her newest baby cousin all night.  Finally, it was her chance and out of her mouth, "babies love me, can I sing her a song?".  This was the highlight of her day by far!  I should have taken more pics of the night but Mr. D took video and I was too busy gabbing to remember to take out my camera (my bad).
After we left g'ma and g'pa's house we headed back up the canyon to our resort.  I had snuck in my suitcase their yearly presents of new jammies, they were happy:)
They are getting goofy....
The giggles were getting out of control, they were so excited it was Christmas the next morning!  BUT, before we left on our trip the kids all wrote a letter to Santa Clause telling him to bring their gifts when they get home.  They knew not to expect anything in the morning when they woke up but they still loved they got new jammies and didn't show an ounce of disappointment:)
Wait!!  Early the next morning, Santa had snuck into our hotel room!!!  Santa surprised everyone by bringing their stockings, that wasn't expected AT ALL!!
Good job Santa, Little R needed new lip balm, the cold and dry Utah air was causing her to get a second bottom lip!
Aunty D also surprised our kids and gave us gifts for them while we were in Utah.  So, not only did we get stockings to open but some presents too!  It was small but it still made a great holiday mess on the floor of our hotel room and the fact that my kids didn't know they were getting ANY of it proved to be a perfect thing:)

We finished off our morning by ordering in room service.  We had eggs, toast, bacon, orange juice, fresh fruit, the works, it was perfect:)
After we got showered up we had another surprise to pull off!  Aunty D. gave Baby R a white board/chalk board for Christmas, it gave me a smashing idea.....I decided to write 'Merry Christmas' on it and stand in front of my sister's house, take a photo and then text it to her.  It was a great rest of the afternoon hanging out with my parents, my brother and his wife and my sister along with all her kids.  It was a different way to spend Christmas for sure than what we've always done and it worked out, it was a great day!  The kids had a blast and I really don't think they missed the big Christmas we usually have back at our own home in TX.

Don't leave yet, there is still more to this trip!!
