Desk? Meet head.

Today is one of those days where so many things have been occurring lately that I feel like, "where do I start?".  I made my checklist of things that need to be accomplished over the next couple of weeks and I think by me writing it down, made it worse.  Here's my list, all to be accomplished by some date before February7th.

1: RSVP and shop for birthday party (don't forget ATTENDING party too).
2: Make 15-20 different hats for "Market Day". Well, annoying, I worked my butt off only to have Market Day moved to a further date still to be announced due to the kids not being able to get to the stores because of M.N.
3: Various phone calls to be returned.
4: Return to Pediatrician for 2yo re-check of ear infections.
5: Make travel arrangements for May.
6: Attend yet another city council meeting (I'm so grown up these days, fighting for my neighborhood).
7: Arrange meals for a neighbor who's mother was diagnosed w/aggressive cancer (given 3-6mo to live).
8: Continue on with my Boot Camp classes (I did pay for them so I'm not going to NOT show).
9: Two school meetings and re-evals. These got canceled till further notice due to Mother Nature (thanks!)
10: Package my craftiness and ship before I look like I forgot.
11: Buy Little R new shoes, desperately.
12: Host a play group where I come up with theme/games/snacks etc... Also canceled till March due to M.N. (thanks again!)
13: Find G a buddy that will come over regularly to help him socially.
14: Make G's bread, chicken nuggets, turkey meat balls, spaghetti sauce, chili, shepherds pie and cookies for lunches and meals when I'm running behind (that's pretty much standard these days, don't get offended if I'm late, I'm being pulled in a lot of directions and doing the best I can).
15: Figure out what to do for Valentines Day so I can prepare the week of.

*UPDATE:
16: Another b-day party came through.  Moved to next week due to M.N.
17: And, a baby shower.
18: Meeting with Nutritionist for G.
19: Meet with Courtney to help me out.
20: ANOTHER b-day party!  This is weird!  All three of my kids have been invited to b-days in the same week!  What's up with that??

I told you by writing everything down it makes it look worse.  This list doesn't even include mundane things like grocery shopping, packing lunches, laundry, therapy etc...

I think I may have to go M.I.A for a bit till I crawl my way out of my list.  See you all on the other side, hopefully with everything accomplished!

Hidden Talent {maybe}

So the whole crocheting trend is starting to intrigue me a wee bit.

I've never actually done it but some of the little girl clips I'm coming across are really quite adorable.

And not that I'm having anymore kids (so help me, I'd shoot my own head off if that happens!) but how adorable are these (minus the ugly soccer ball button, something cuter should have gone there)?

Maybe I have a hidden talent that needs to be discovered, do you think it's crocheting?

You Inspiring Person You!

I want to take a moment to thank all of those who blog.  Whether it's a family blog, crafty blog, foodie blog etc..., it's a blast learning about what makes up your world.  I get so much out of reading what others come up with and it helps me in my artsy head to keep creating forward.  I have learned so much about families and their traditions and trials and knowing I'm not alone, I have learned so much about how to craft up things I enjoy and I have learned how to feed my family in a more nourishing way, just to name a few.

So, to all of you who allow me to come into your world, thanks, it means a lot to be inspired by you!

Love,

Heather

Here are some of my favorite blogs (besides, those of you who are so eloquently placed by name on the right side of my own blog!):

Holla!

Yes, I do watch Kendra on the E! network, I find her entertaining, so what?  This clip from this past Sunday's episode made Mr. D and myself laugh.  To anyone who has ever experienced a true MN winter, you'll find this equally entertaining.

Heather Happy!

Winter Wonderland = Happy Heather!

We got 4 inches yesterday and it was AWESOME!  There is not enough words in the English dictionary to explain the white blanket we were blessed with (maybe I should use the term "we" loosely)!  My kids went out yesterday and again today and albeit cold, it doesn't seem to bother them....I like to believe it's their MN blood.

Cause I can.

For those who regularly read my blog know I have annoyances with FB but yet I still use it for the sole purpose of keeping in touch with friends.  However, that reason alone won't stop me from nagging about FB again today.

Lately, I've noticed how much certain individuals post.  They are constantly posting about the funny things their kid says, and downloading their latest Christmas file of pics, all 115 of them and expect all of their Face-y friends to jump in and tell them how funny their kids are or that their uncle Joe (who no one else knows but your family!) is looking thinner these days (as he's clearly not ready for a photo op because his head is turned and not even smiling, why post that?).

Come on people, if you want to post this much detail, START A BLOG!  I'm just sayin', not to hurt any ones feelings, but not everyone is looking at your huge photo albums you upload and majority of the time, we are tired of hearing about your kid (moderation is key here).  Come up with something new.  Start a blog, and post your blogger address and for those who are sincerely interested can come there.

Just sayin' cause I can, it's my blog.

Goals and Diets!

Two words associate with the "F" word.
FAILURE

Every year, I hear of many many people talk of their New Years goals and diets to take off the extra holiday baggage.  I actually don't believe in goals nor diets because 98% of the time, people give up, including myself.  Many moons ago I stopped making goals (who just gasped?), it's true.  I realized, if I wanted to do something, I was just going to do it, no baby steps.  When I tried to take baby steps I just got frustrated and realized how long of a process it was taking me when I could have been done already.  Diets are the same way, people take baby steps to eating healthier but by taking baby steps, it's so much easier to veer off the wee little path you are on and head straight to the over processed, over sugared, over salted carbs in the pantry.  Then, once you get a taste of the nasty, you want even more and the whole diet plan goes to pot.

So, here is my New Years PLAN OF ATTACK!

1: Drink my greens.
2: Eat my snacks from the produce drawer, not the cupboard.
3: Ramp up my workout routine to 6 mornings a week.
4: Get a tummy tuck.
5: Stop obsessing over what the scale flashes back at me.
6: When I hit the wall of absolute agony and I start reaching for the nasty stuff, I eat a healthy snack first, then the craving should be gone (eventually the cravings leave all together, yeah!)
7: Support my hubby on going vegetarian (yes folks, I'm ratting the man out!).
8: Make more stuff, just to give away cause it brings me the Happy's.
9: Run more outside (until the 90's, I'm not stupid, I want to live!).
10: Read a book.  Any book.  My hubby said it best when he informed me that I've allowed my mind to get fat.  I workout and eat well to keep me lean on the outside, but I neglected my brain and it is officially obese.

So there you have it folks, my 2011 PLAN OF ATTACK!  No need for stupid baby steps because I refuse to use the "F" word.

Happy 2011!
