I know in my head, EXACTLY how Little R's room is going to look. But doing that designer, gorgeous look on a budget certainly has it's moments (not good ones).
I knew her room needed a chandelier, I fell in love with the look of this one!! The price?? $1,435. Excuse me while I cough up my lung and sell it to you. I love my 5yo but she doesn't need a $1500.00 chandelier hanging above her pretty little head. NEXT!!
After hitting lighting stores around my area and finding a lot of chandeliers that looked similar to the $1500 one but still hovering in the $500-$900 range, I knew I had to trust a source online which scared me, I'm not big on ordering things online that I can't see in person. I hung my head and gave into Overstock.com. I found the above chandelier that had great reviews except its con was, it had a lengthy assembly time with no instructions. I took my chances at only $159.00, I'd deal with the 2 hours people were quoting to install each of the crystals by hand (it took me that long too).
And when it was all said and done, I hung this lovely $160 crystal chandelier with great pride! The chandelier didn't come with the mini shades but knew the chandelier would be taken to a much higher level of beauty if I added them. Can I just say, if you do a search for these shades online, you get some VERY expensive mini shades in your search engine! So, off to Home Depot I go and for less than $6 a piece the shades complete the look...along with the $16 medallion for the ceiling;)
Little R LOVES her new light. She was so funny, she asked me how to turn it on and I said, "with the same light switch" so she flips it on and yells, "I'm gonna go show G!". She gets G and proceeds to tell him how exactly you would turn this beautiful light, ahem, chandelier, on (but between you and me, G knew how to flip the light switch on).
Now, for the artwork.......

It is beautiful and totally worth the 2 hours of your time versus hundreds of dollars more. I love the little shades and I can't wait to see the finished room.
Super cute! Can't wait to see the whole room assembled :)
