We need to have a moment of silence for Tinkerbell, one of Baby R's preschool goats.....
Ok, all done.
Tinkerbell was known to all the kids by her signature pink scarf and bell she wore around her neck. One early morning a coyote got her and shredded this poor thing to pieces and strung her parts all over the farm.
So, because it wasn't noticed till shortly before kids were going to start arriving for the day, many of the kids got to witness the clean up. The preschool handled it great, they were honest with the kids in such a way that Baby R told me the basics of what happened but no graphic details (thank goodness). Thankfully the preschool quickly replaced Tinkerbell with 2 new baby goats and a new addition to their farm, a bunny named Velvet. The kids were quickly sidetracked by what had happened to Tinkerbell with all the new animals they were now in charge of feeding each day:)
Kudos to all the teachers who acted quick but were honest w/the kids in such a way that they understood but didn't dwell on the tragedy of losing a beloved farm animal!!
